I haven't been able to find the videos online yet of all the performances from the finale, but it was a good show. Sixwire came in second. Light of Doom, Northmont (Band that didn't make it to the final 12), Goo Goo Dolls, Sheila E. and Denver and the Mile High Orchestra performed on the show. I hope to have all the videos up tomorrow.
Congrats to the Clark boys! You deserved it more than anyone...

Well, Light of Doom have finally been eliminated. I think their quirky version of Queen's We Will Rock You really did them in. I wish them well. Maybe all or some of them will make it. Only time will tell...

The three Dots run is over, and I couldn't agree more. I just didn't think they were near as good as some of the other bands that were eliminated earlier. In particular, Tres Bien, Franklin Bridge and definitely The Muggs were much better than them.

Tres Bien were skating on thin ice after last week's performance where they were beaten up pretty bad by the judges, and it looks like America followed suit as they were eliminated last night on episode seven. Here are the five remaining bands:

Cliff Wagner and his band of Old #7 hillbilly's were eliminated after episode six. Frankly, I'm amazed these guys made it this far. I wish them well and hope they're able to capitalize on their success. Here are the six remaining bands:
Only seven bands left going into tonights show... Here's who is left:
And now there are eight... Here's who is left:

The Likes of You and The Hatch were eliminated last night on the Episode three of the Next Great American Band. I wasn't surprised about The Hatch, but I was a little surprised that The Likes of You were eliminated this quickly. If you missed them last week, The Hatch performed Bob Dylan's It's All Over Baby Blue and the Likes of You sang Dylan's Blowin' In The Wind.

Earlier, I posted the video of the Zombie Bazooka Patrol making it through to the next round. However, on every other website I can find about the show, they're not listed as one of the final 12. In fact, with them, there would be 13. I don't know if this was a mistake by the judges for choosing too many bands or what, but I'd like to find out what happened. Because as you can clearly see in the last post, the judges pushed them through. Anyone have any information about this???

I just finished watching the first episode of the Next Great American Band on FOX. It's produced by the same producers as American Idol. The three judges for this show are Sheila E. (former drummer for Prince), Johnny Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls lead singer) and Ian "Dicko" Dickson (a judge from Australian Idol). After watching the first show, it's apparent that Ian is the Simon Cowell of the group, Sheila E. is a lot like Paula Abdul and Johnny is like Randy Jackson.
I enjoyed watching the show more than American Idol mainly because a lot of the bands performed rock songs rather than R&B and Pop songs like you hear on American Idol. There were some really good bands and some really, really horrible ones. My favorites from this first show were Sixwire (country band), The Muggs (Blues Rock) and an all kid 80's glam rock band called Light of Doom. I did some looking around the internet, and most of these bands have been touring for quite some time and a lot of them have had record deals in the past, so it's not exactly a huge prize just to win a record deal, but it's more like a "Battle of the Bands" concept. Either way, it should be an entertaining show nonetheless. We'll see. The next few posts feature performances from some of the bands who performed on the first episode as well as their audition videos.
Here are the 12 bands that made it through to the next round:
